A multi-generational small family business sharing love and light one candle at a time.

Our story:

We're a small, family-run business creating handmade concrete vessel candles on a peaceful acreage in Orange, NSW. Founded by our family members Richard and Kelly (featured below), the very loved ‘Lupstone’ clan from Bathurst who have trusted us with their small business brand and knowledge. We are forever grateful and determined to continue to use Pop’s secret recipes to manufacture beautiful, handmade candles. We will also continue to support the Royal Far West with donations, a cause close to Pop’s heart.

As Maple Park Creative embarks to put our own stamp onto this small business, we continue to pour love into every candle — just as it was from the start. With multi-generational hands working side by side, we blend tradition, craftsmanship, and a deep commitment to community and connection.

Who are we:

Kelly:

Kelly is a passionate candle maker and creator, with a love of exploring colour and is drawn to colours found in the stunning local environment of both our family home and of the community we live in, Orange NSW. The four distinct seasons and mountainous surrounds of our beautiful town provides a stunning palette of colours that we can weave into our candle making.

Living on a small acreage in Orange, a dream her and partner Tom worked towards for a long time, finds creating our handmade candles provides moments of peace and creativity in a busy family life. Combined with her first passion of teaching children with a disability, Maple Park Creative offers an opportunity for our multi-generational family to work together to achieve something to be proud of.

Tom:

Tom is affectionately known as the ‘concrete man’, known for his eye for detail and commitment to perfection. Usually found in the shed covered in dust and up to his elbows in concrete, Tom brings a practical mindset, understanding of the unique features and challenges of creating from concrete and a general knack for fixing things.

Having grown up in Warren NSW, Tom carries a deep appreciation for a country lifestyle and is enjoying putting his own stamp on Maple Park and creating a space for his family to call home. His dedication to quality ensures each creation is both functional and well made.

Chez:

Chez, also known affectionately as Maple Park’s very own ‘Nan’, has shown resilience and determination following three life changing events, being the loss of her very dear husband Ian, a serious car accident and then losing everything in the flood in Eugowra in November 2022. Chez joined daughter Kelly, Tom and their three boys at Maple Park and is an integral part of keeping life ticking over with her amazing organisational skills and willingness to spend time, play games and give hugs!

Chez is well known to family and friends as being crafty and creative with many different mediums. She shows talent on the sewing machine, loves to work with a range of textiles and will give any art or craft a try. Chez channels her resilience and energy now into candle making and this new project is giving her a way to connect to her community and to continue to create beautiful products and inspire those around her, whilst being surrounded by her family.

The rest of the gang:

At Maple Park you would be bound to find one of three lads, Oliver, Evan and Toby hanging around. With any luck they may even be painting a bowl or packing a box (but are likely gaming)! You may also spot two very gorgeous dogs Bonnie and Frankie and hopefully one day, some farm animals to love and pat.
